Over the weekend Austin’s South By Southwest interactive media festival took place, along with an award ceremony highlighting some of the best games the industry has to offer. Nintendo took home a prize for Super Mario 3D World, as the title won Best Multiplayer Game.

Nintendo has always taken its presence at SXSW semi-seriously and this year was no different; the Kyoto-based company teamed up with Pennzoil in order to run a special promotion called Mario Kart Re-imagined for attendees. A go kart track equipped with karts and helmets that sport their character logos were available for attendees to ride, making it one of the most unique promotions we’ve seen for Mario Kart to date.
While the interactive portion of SXSW is over, the festival continues on with motion pictures and other media.
