The feared home-run bat is back in Super Smash Bros. and the effects of being KO’d with it seem to be extra comical. You can see Link using it against Donkey Kong in the above image, with Kong’s eye comically bulging out of his head from the effect. The home-run bat, like the hammer, has always been feared for its instant KO ability.
Of course, no Super Smash Bros. update would be the same without Sakurai’s commentary on Miiverse, where he makes reference to the eye bulging effect.
