A few days ago, a Square Enix developer teased that he was working on a Switch project. Now the company as a whole has commented on the Switch and their thoughts on it. And it’s good news.
Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda said in a recent issue of Nikkei that they have a strong interest in the Switch and want the console to succeed.
Matsuda added that Square Enix will develop new titles for the Switch console, in addition to porting some of its existing titles, adding that “we’ll be marrying the Switch’s unique features to the kinds of games we’re known for.”
Square Enix has a long list of popular franchises that could make their way to the Switch, including the Final Fantasy series, the Kingdom Hearts series, Deus Ex, Hatman, and others.
