One of the biggest Japanese developers, Square Enix, has confirmed that they are working on several Switch games and that they have set up a new division to lead the way on those projects.
Square Enix’s Tomoya Asano told GameInformer that they are working on several titles for the Switch, adding “we’ll work with Nintendo and announce them in the future”.
The one Square Enix title that has been announced for the Switch is Octopath Traveller, which they will use as an indicator wether to invest more into the Switch. Asano said:
“If Octopath Traveler does well and this is something that appeals to fans, we want to focus on Switch. Please pick up the Switch if you want to play games like Octopath Traveler.”
