Nintendo will host the very last Splatfest later this month, but don’t worry, that doesn’t mean the online multiplayer service will be shut down.

The company confirmed that online multiplayer services for Splatoon will continue, telling Kotaku, “general online experience and service will continue.”

However, there was no news on whether we will get future content and DLC. We do imagine the occasional patch will still be released.

Splatoon was released last year and has been a massive hit for Nintendo, selling almost 4.5 million units worldwide. This makes it one of the best selling Wii U games ever — 1 in 3 Wii U owners owns a copy of Splatoon.
