The nominees for the 16th Annual Game Developer’s Choice Awards were revealed yesterday, and Nintendo’s Splatoon got no less than three nominations: the Innovation Award, Best Design, and Best Visual Art.

Recently, Splatoon received the Best Game award at the Children’s BAFTA Awards.

Nintendo got one more nomination: Super Mario Maker was nominated for the Innovation Award as well.

Despite the success of the 3DS and Nintendo’s dominance in the portable market, the company didn’t get a single nomination for best Handheld/Mobile game.
