Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the next installment in the annual shooter from publisher Activision and the Wii U verison of the game has been up in the air for some time now. Rumors about the Wii U logo being spotted on marketing materials for the website led many to believe that a Wii U version would be coming. However, today Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey confirmed that the Wii U will not see Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in a tweet to a fan.
@1422644 no, no WiiU. That was an Activision decision. We are focused on XboxOne, PS4, and PC.

While Sledgehammer Games is handling the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC version of the game, Treyarch are working with last-gen systems PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Condrey confirmed in another tweet that Treyarch is not working on the Wii U version either and that this was Activision’s decision, not either individual studio working on the games for Wii U.
So there you have it, folks. The makers of mature games have bowed out of providing Wii U owners with their games for now.
