Remember that weird certification thing we found back in February that showed a gold and silver Mario amiibo was on the way? Well, it turns out the gold amiibo was a Walmart exclusive item and we’ve yet to see anything about the silver Mario amiibo, until now. YouTuber MatteoMaxM made a video of himself with what appears to be a silver Mario amiibo he claims he got from a Chinese auction site.
Of course, a silver Mario amiibo would be easy to fake, as all it would take is a can of silver spray paint and the regular Mario Party 10 amiibo. However, MatteoMaxM was expecting this and decided to show that the amiibo is authentic by booting up Mario Party 10 and scanning the amiibo in. The result is genuine, as a silver Mario token appears in the game, rather than the regular.
There’s no telling which store will have the exclusive silver Mario amiibo when it’s finally made available to the rest of the world, but it’s coming soon if this incident is anything to go by.
