Fast Racing Neo recently released on the Wii U eShop after being in development since 2013, shortly after the Wii U was released to the public. Shin’en has been very forthcoming about the development process and the power of the Wii U, which is why it’s nice to see the studio confirm that they’re happy with sales of the game so far.

While it hasn’t been out a full month yet, in a recent interview with NintendoLife, the studio confirmed that they’re pleased with sales, even though they didn’t share any official numbers.

We had a bet running in the company on how many copies would be sold on day one. Martin called the highest number. And he was right. It was almost exactly the number he predicted. We are very pleased with the sales so far, but on the other side our preceding investment was very high as well. Anyway, currently it looks pretty bright for the sales.

Shin’en also confirmed that they’re working on their next game, especially now that Fast Racing Neo is now available to the public. Have you picked it up? Does it make a good substitute for an F-Zero game?
