SEGA is removing Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 from the Wii virtual console

Sonic-2-2013-EHZ

According to a new report from Famitsu, SEGA will be removing both Sonic the Hedgehog games currently available on the Wii virtual console tomorrow. These games never made it to the Wii U virtual console, so the Wii versions were the only versions available to play on both the Wii and the Wii U.

While Famitsu is reporting on the removal in the Japanese eShop, Nintendo Life believes the move will be a global one. If you’ve yet to pick up either game and want to have them on the Wii U, today is your last chance to do so. The games are also being removed from the Xbox Live Arcade as well. Both games are still available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, however.
