Rumor: Wii U outsold Xbox One the week before Christmas

Before we get into the meat of this article, this news is as being reported by VGChartz. VGChartz is a controversial source of sales information because of the way they gather their information. The news was first broken by Forbes, who reported that according to VGChartz, the Wii U outsold the Xbox One the week before Christmas, managing to move 319,860 units that week, while the Xbox One only sold 307,366. There’s plenty of reasons why the Wii U may have overtaken Microsoft’s latest consoles and raw, incomplete sales numbers only paint half the picture. Still, there’s no denying that the Wii U has done decidedly well this holiday season, with many analysts still calling for its death. Here’s a look at charts for that week:
