Report: Switch battery lasts 3 hours undocked when playing Zelda

The Nintendo Switch is now in the hands of various press outfits, who have had a few days to get familiar with the new console. And reports about battery life are coming out now.

The Switch battery seems to last about 3 hours when playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the go. And if you increase your screen brightness to maximum, it lasts only 2.5 hours.

Which is in line with the official battery claims by Nintendo — the company says that the console can last from 2.5 hours to 6 hours depending on the game. Since Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a very demanding game, battery life is on the low side when playing it on the go.

The Nintendo Switch battery is manufactured by the same company that made batteries for the notorious Samsung Galaxy Note 7. However, there shouldn’t be any concern about exploding Switch batteries, as the phone had a design problem, not a battery problem.
