If you obtained Gold or Platinum during the final year of Club Nintendo, today is your last day to choose your free game reward. You’ll need to login to Club Nintendo and choose which game you want to receive by midnight tonight, Pacific Time. If you don’t, you’ll miss out on your final Club Nintendo reward. The final choice of games available to both Gold and Platinum members is pretty diverse, though it does tend to favor the Nintendo 3DS catalogue over the Wii U catalogue.
Currently, there’s no word on Nintendo’s replacement program for Club Nintendo, but rumors have suggested Nintendo is seeking to tie-in the new platform to its recent partnership with Japanese mobile firm DeNA. Whether that new platform will be ready to go for the launch of the Nintendo NX is unknown, but it would be a great way to help Nintendo gain traction, especially if the new rewards program is somehow tied into whatever mobile apps Nintendo produces over the next few years.
