Japan getting stand to make Wii U GamePad a racing wheel

With Mario Kart 8 just around the corner, it looks like Japanese peripheral manufacturer CyberGadget is getting ready to cash-on on those who want a racing wheel experience for the game. Of course Wii-remote racing wheels have been around since the Wii, but this new peripheral is a stand that comes with a clamp, making it possible to attach the GamePad to the stand and use it as the wheel itself. The device will retail for about $42 in the region.

Of course, if using the GamePad isn’t your thing, the Wii-remote wheel is still a possibility and comes as an available attachment. There’s no word on when anything like this will be available in the West, so it looks like Japan is getting the best tool for Mario Kart 8 sessions until further notice. What do you think of this? If it functions well, it could be the perfect accessory for games like Mario Kart 8 and Project Cars, when they’re released.
