PlayStation VR’s “Cinematic Mode” can be used with the Wii U

PlayStation VR's

Sony released the PlayStation VR virtual reality headset for the PS4 yesterday, and one gamer discovered something quite interesting: its “Cinematic Mode” can be used with the Wii U.

The Cinematic Mode projects an input from HDMI to a virtual big screen in virtual reality. Since the VR headset simply takes the HDMI input, you can plug almost anything into it, including the Wii U, and use the Cinematic Mode and play Wii U games in VR (sort of).

Basically, instead of plugging your Wii U into the TV, you plug it into the VR headset.

But don’t expect head tracking on any other fancy VR features. Japanese Twitter user @chirnoice shows that it works:

Thanks for the tip, Mike!
