PETA criticizes Nintendo for cow milking mini game

When we first saw the cow milking mini-game in 1-2-Switch, we thought it was weird. Maybe even by Nintendo’s standards. But that’s not how the animal rights crusaders at PETA see it. Not at all.

PETA has written a letter (shown in its entirety below) to Nintendo, condemning them for the way cow milking is represented in 1-2-Switch. They claim that it doesn’t show the cruelty of industrial cow milking.

Here’s what part of their statement reads, and it’s so ridiculous that sounds like it was written as a joke:

“PETA staffers and activists recently played the cow-milking game featured in Nintendo’s 1-2-Switch and realized that the company had taken all the cruelty out of the process. We have over 35 years of experience investigating dairy farms where cows are exploited for their milk, and it’s never that pleasant for the animals.”

They even criticized Nintendo for accepting the cow milking challenge, saying: “Grabbing and squeezing the udder of an unsuspecting cow may bring its challenges, but the gameplay is far from reality.”

Oh, and then there’s this glorious bit:

“To simulate cow milking accurately, the game would need to show all aspects of dairy farming”. Good thing it’s not a cow milking simulator, but a silly mini-game.
