Last week was an eventful one for the Wii U, with Ubisoft finally confirming that Watch Dogs would be the last “mature” title produced for the Wii U, as the company’s previous financial reports showcased that Wii U owners just didn’t buy Assassin’s Creed games. This is something I predicted back in March, when reveals for two new Assassin’s Creed games were uncovered, but not a single sign pointed to either game getting released on Wii U.

This is where #OperationPlatinum comes in as a fan-based movement to see Bayonetta 2, a Nintendo-published mature title getting more than 1 million in sales during the holidays. Fans want to show that mature games have a home on the Wii U as long as they’re done properly. Bayonetta 2 is a game that would not exist without Nintendo funding Platinum Games and giving them the opportunity to create it and being nearly two years in the making, several fans are excited to play it.

Bayonetta 2 has been the source of some controversy when it comes to Nintendo, as many Xbox and PlayStation fanboys are upset that Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive game. Petitions to bring the game to all consoles have been made and to seemingly counter that, Nintendo announced at E3 this year that Bayonetta 2 would be releasing with Bayonetta 1 available as a free-addon, so fans who purchase the game will be getting two for one so they can play through the entire Bayonetta franchise.. on their Wii U.

Will you be supporting this movement by buying Bayonetta 2 when it releases in October?
