Nintendo's Scott Moffitt leaves the company

Longtime Nintendo of America Executive VP of Sales and Marketing Scott Moffitt will be leaving the company by the end of July. Moffitt has been with Nintendo since 2011, and those familiar with his departure describe it as “amicable”.

However, it appears that his leaving isn’t entirely voluntary: Nintendo of America will be dissolving the position of Executive VP of Sales and Marketing. Instead, the duties will be split among other team members.

Here’s Nintendo’s statement about the departure of Moffitt:

“Scott Moffitt, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has decided to leave Nintendo of America. In order to ensure a smooth transition, Scott will continue to work through the end of July. Nintendo has a strong group of seasoned leaders in place who will step in to assume the full responsibilities of the role on a permanent basis, with the objective of driving more collaboration and greater efficiencies across these groups and among the respective leaders. We thank Scott for his years of service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Moffitt has previously worked at Pepsi and Henkel.
