Nintendo Switch trailer doesn’t represent actual gameplay footage

Nintendo showcased a lot of games running on the Switch console in the reveal trailer. Games like Skyrim, NBA 2K, Mario, Splatoon, and of course, Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

However, Nintendo has now clarified that what we saw might not represent real gameplay footage. Their specific wording was:

“You shouldn’t assume what you saw on the video represents actual game footage and further specifics on first-party games will be provided later.”

Which is a diplomatic way of telling us that some of those games were probably not running on the Switch, or might have been just gameplay videos.

Third party titles, like Skyrim, were seen running on the Switch (supposedly), but haven’t even been confirmed to even be in development for the new console.

Nintendo added that they wanted the Switch trailer to show how the console worked, and not necessarily represent actual gameplay footage.
