Last year Nintendo was struggling to meet demand for the Switch console in Japan. Those problems have now been resolved, according to the company.
Japan Business Times reports quotes a Nintendo rep saying that the supply problem in Japan has “almost been resolved” and that they have received almost no feedback about shortages.
Which makes sense because we haven’t heard about Switch shortages in Japan this year at all.
The Switch was (and still is) a much sought after console in Japan — last Fall Japanese gamers would line up for hours each weekend for a chance to buy a Switch. It got so out of hand that some retailers started lotteries to decide who gets to buy a Switch.
The console has also been in good supply in the West — retailers like Amazon and GameStop have had plenty consoles in stock over the past month.
