Nintendo sued over Switch detachable controllers

Well that didn’t take long: Nintendo has been sued by a company who claims that the Switch and its detachable controllers violate its patents.

The lawsuit was filed by Gamevice, who once made a handheld console called the “Wikipad”, which had detachable controllers.

Gamevice wants Nintendo to both pay damages and to cease selling the Switch.

This is odd, because Nintendo has secured its own patents for the Switch and its detachable controllers. Heck, even Sony has patented a console with detachable controllers.

As you can see in the video below, the Wikipad also consists of a tablet and controllers, however, the controllers are one, big part that the tablet slides into, unlike the Switch where the controllers are individually detached.
