It’s that time of year and E3 is coming in a few weeks. No one will forget the famous picture of Satoru Iwata, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Reggie Fils-Aime coming together for the E3 2013 picture. However, that won’t be possible this year as president Satoru Iwata will not be attending E3. According to a recent report, Satoru Iwata will be skipping E3 this year. If you remember last year, Iwata was unable to attend the event due to health concerns and recovery from a recent surgery.

This time, Nintendo says that Iwata’s business expertise is needed in Japan, rather than showcasing new games in America alongside Mr. Miyamoto.

“Nintendo’s focus for E3 this year will be showcasing the many games we have coming for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Mr. Miyamoto and other members of our development team will be in Los Angeles to explain these games and the unique experiences that each offers. Mr. Iwata’s focus in this period will be on other areas of our business that require his presence in Japan.”

Since the announcement of throwing their hat into the mobile rink, it’s likely that Iwata has tons of business plans relating to the decision and must direct those. Still, will there ever be anything better than this picture?
