Nintendo has announced an extended maintenance period for both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS on Monday, September 29. The maintenance will last for four hours and is the sort of thing we usually see before a big update to the consoles. Here’s the scheduled hours the network will be down for various regions across the globe:

Nintendo eShop (Wii U, 3DS), Wii Shop Channel, DSi Shop, on Monday, September 29:

a) Europe : 10PM to 2AM (Monday > Tuesday)
b) UK : 9PM to 1AM (Monday > Tuesday)
c) USA (East Coast) : 4PM to 8PM
d) USA (West Coast) : 1PM to 15PM
e) Japan : 5AM to 9AM

Aside from that maintenance Monday, Miiverse will also be undergoing extended maintenance on Friday, September 26 and it will be down until the following Tuesday after the maintenance update. This means you’ll be unable to access the service all weekend and any games that incorporate Miiverse functionality, like Resident Evil: Revelations and New Super Mario Bros. U will be non-functional during that time.

Miiverse, on Friday, September 26:

a) Europe : 12AM to 10AM (Saturday > Tuesday)
b) UK : 11AM to 9AM (Friday > Tuesday)
c) USA (East Coast) : 6PM to 4AM (Friday > Tuesday)
d) USA (West Coast) : 3PM to 1AM (Friday > Tuesday)
e) Japan : 7AM to 5PM (Saturday > Tuesday)

Considering the huge time that Miiverse is going to be down and the subsequent update on Monday, we could have a very large firmware update for the Wii U on our hands. What are you hoping to see?
