Nintendo has filed for a trademark in Japan for “Koopa” (i.e. クッパ ), also known as Bowser in the West — Mario’s arch nemesis. The trademark was filed for video games, clothing, and more.
The trademark was filed back in February, and it should be approved (or denied) within a few months.
Usually Nintendo waits to trademark games and consoles until they’re very close to announcement, and maybe this could be one of the new games they announce at E3 in June.
It seems about time, as Bowser is one of the new popular Nintendo characters who has yet to have his own, proper game. Would you like to see a Bowser game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
