After a few weeks of light releases before Super Mario Maker, it’s nice to see Nintendo and third parties stepping it up with several great releases for the past two weeks. Super Mario Maker was the heavy hitter last week, but this week there are a few games that are worthy of your attention as well.
Of course as previously mentioned, Shovel Knight’s Plague of Shadows DLC is out now, so if you were a big fan of the puzzle platforming in the original game, be sure to check out this DLC expansion. It’s absolutely free to those who already own the base game.
Other new additions this week include the puzzler Year Walk, a unique atmospheric puzzler that will put the Wii U GamePad to good use. Also up is the digital version of Skylanders SuperChargers, which comes with digital versions of the included figurines. If you already have a Portal of Power from purchasing one of the other sets, then this is a great way to check out the new game without buying another starter kit.

Year Walk – Lose yourself in an ancient rite that bleeds from the TV screen into our world through the Wii U GamePad controller. Use the second screen in your hands to study a mysterious folklore encyclopedia, decipher hints and take notes. Solve tactile puzzles using motion controls, and listen for clues through the GamePad.
Skylanders SuperChargers Portal Owner’s Pack – Kick your adventure into overdrive!
