Nintendo of Japan is updating its Wii U bundle line up in preparation for the release of Super Mario Maker next month. According to the Japanese Nintendo website, the premium Wii U bundle that contains Mario Kart 8 will soon be discontinued in favor of a bundle that contains Super Mario Maker, which you can see above.

The Wii U Super Mario Maker bundle in Japan will have two editions, one that comes with an amiibo as a limited edition and the standard version with just the game available. There’s no news on whether other territories will see a similar bundle, but it’s unlikely the bundled Mario Kart 8 Wii U would ever be discontinued in the West given how popular the series is here.

Too bad the Super Mario Maker Wii U consoles aren’t that same vibrant yellow as the Super Mario Maker box. What do you think?
