With the unexpected passing of former president Satoru Iwata, Nintendo has been thrown into a bit of disarray. Normally we’d have several Nintendo Direct presentations by now outlining the company’s holiday plans, but given that Iwata was such a huge part of these presentations, many have wondered if they will continue.

Nintendo’s new president Tatsumi Kimishima has confirmed that not only will the Nintendo Direct return, but that there will be one coming later this year. According to the Wall Street Journal, Kimishima will be remodelling the Nintendo Direct to have a new format next year, so fans can be excited about seeing what he plans to do with the Direct.

Tomorrow Kimishima is expected to fully detail their upcoming mobile plans after revealing today that the company has posted an operating profit for the first time in five years.
