Yesterday Japanese financial site Nikkei reported that Nintendo will be shuttering Wii U production at the end of the year. Nintendo has denied those reports, stating that production of the console will continue “into the next term and beyond.”
Nintendo spoke directly to Famitsu to dispel the rumor, stating that no announcement has been made by the company. The rumor cropped up because the Wii U has been sold out all over Japan and Nintendo has not been forthcoming when it comes to discussing when more stock will be available.
