Are you having trouble finding a specific amiibo that you want for your collection? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Over the past few weeks since the release of the amiibo and Super Smash Bros., gamers have been taking to social media and sites like reddit to express just how displeased they are at being unable to find amiibo like The Villager and Marth.

Earlier this year in a statement to investors, president Satoru Iwata mentioned that as newer figures are released, some of the older figures may be retired and become more rare. This statement prompted a wave of panic among collectors, especially those who have been unable to secure all the amiibo available this holiday season.

David Young from Nintendo of America chimed in to address the panic over rare amiibo, stating that Nintendo will continue to produce the figures, despite earlier statements.

David from Nintendo jumping in here. We have not discontinued any of the amiibo figures. Naturally some are more popular than others, and stores will need to reorder these once they sell through. That said, I don’t know how long resupply will take, so I encourage people to pick up their favourite characters when they see them in this busy Holiday season.
