Niantic Labs was scheduled to give a Pokemon Go presentation this year at GDC 2016, hosted by the company’s CEO John Hanke. Now the event has been cancelled with no word on why or if there will be another session sometime later in the year at another event.
The presentation was supposed to be an in-depth look at how people interact with the world through the lens of augmented reality games like Ingress and Pokemon Go. Since it was a developers panel, the presentation would have had a focus on designing and developing augmented reality games to complement real-world mobile gameplay experiences.
