Hundreds line up in New York for a copy of Hyrule Warriors Limited Edition

Hyrule Warriors officially launched earlier this weekend, and those wanting the very exclusive Limited Edition had only one choice: buy it at the Nintendo World Store in New York. Since this is a highly anticipated game, and since Nintendo isn’t selling the Limited Edition online, it meant that hundreds of eager Wii U owners lined up outside in order to get a copy.

Nintendo had about 500 copies of the Hyrule Warriors Limited Edition to sell, and according to reports, over 600 people lined up. Which means that not all walked away happy. Nintendo sold out of the 500 copies within an hour.

The Hyrule Warriors Limited Edition includes a copy of the game and a blue Zelda scarf. It’s nowhere near as fancy as the Hyrule Warriors Treasure Box, which is available in Japan. It includes the game, the scar, a Trifoce clock, an artbook, treasure chest, and some in-game items as well.

As for the Limited Edition at the Nintendo World Store, some of those lucky enough to get one were quick to flip it on eBay. One was put up on the online auction site immediately, and bidding has already surpassed $350. Other listings start at $500. That’s one very expensive scarf.
