New Nintendo Land details and mini games revealed

The latest issue of Game Informer has some new details on two of Nintendo’s Wii U launch titles: Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U. We’ll start with Nintendo Land: two brand new attractions have been revealed. One is “Metroid Blast”, and looks like it’s based on the “Battle Mii” mini-game prototype that was showcased at E3 back in 2011. The other minigame is called “Balloon Fight”, where players float through levels in a side-scrolling game and try to avoid traps, spikes, birds, etc. The object is to make it as far as you can in the level, while drawing wind gusts with your GamePad controller.

Other Nintendo Land details confirm that players will ride a small train from attraction to attraction. Players will earn coins by playing minigames, and will able to purchase items with them. Players will also be able to play “Pachinko” games (a popular slot machine game in Japan). Winning Pachinko games will add Nintendo memorabilia throughout the Nintendo Land park, memorabilia such as new Miis, Zelda consumes, etc. Despite all the new information, there’s still no word on whether Nintendo Land will be bundled with the Wii U or sold separately.
