NES Classic shipments end in Japan and Europe as well

Earlier this week Nintendo confirmed that NES Classic Edition, aka the NES Mini, was going out of production and that there would be one more shipment coming to North America. And that’s it for the console.

Now they’ve confirmed that the last shipments have been sent to Japan and Europe as well. And Australia for that matter.

So it’s official: the NES Mini is no longer in production and won’t be at retailers after this last shipment, which should sell out quickly this month.

The NES Mini was never meant to be in production this long, according to Nintendo, who originally wanted it to be just a 2016 Holiday gadget for retro fans. It turned out to be a lot more than that.

Did you manage to get an NES Mini? Would you consider selling it, now that it’s a prized collector’s item?
