Comcept hasn’t had an easy time with Mighty No. 9, first hesitating to announce a delay and then receiving tons of backlash once the delay announcement finally game. The developers understand that they’ve disappointed their 67,000 Kickstarter backers and they want to do something to make it up to them.

That something is an exclusive trial made available only to backers. The trial will go live on September 15 and will only be available for the PC platform. It will include four levels, three of which we’ve seen before at various tradeshows and events and one that’s new. In addition to that, the team has stated there will be six challenge mode stages and visual upgrades we’ve not seen before.

Backers will also be receiving a free code for Mighty Gunvolt on Steam. All this is a great grand gesture, but it doesn’t help those who don’t have a PC capable of running the game and probably should have been announced alongside the delay, instead of waiting a month later to appease fans who are angry.

Are you still excited about Mighty No. 9 despite the delay? Will you be trying the demo?
