Mario Tennis Aces will need just 2 GB of storage space on the Nintendo Switch when downloaded. That’s about a gazillion times less than some of the other games on the Switch eShop.
2 GB for a game in this day and age is really impressive — maybe Nintendo has found a new compression algorithm that beats all others, or Mario Tennis isn’t that big of a game.
The latter is unlikely — Nintendo isn’t known for skimping out on content. Mario Odyssey was about 9 GB was easily the biggest Mario game to date. Zelda BOTW was 13 GB and was probably the biggest game Nintendo ever made.
We’ll have to wait and see what Mario Tennis Aces has to offer. The game launches on the Switch on June 22.
