The upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive Super Mario Odyssey has a two-player co-op feature!
Similar to how the second player could control the star pointer in Super Mario Galaxy, Odyssey will put the second player in control of Mario’s sentient hat, Cappy.

While in control of Cappy, player 2 will be in charge of defending Mario from enemies. Player 2 will be able to move around Cappy, and “take flight,” as the GIF from Twitter user Wario64 shows.
