Mercedes is probably more pleased with this fact than Nintendo, but today Nintendo of Japan announced via Twitter that its first free Mario Kart 8 DLC that featured the Mercedes GLA as a drivable kart has been downloaded over 1 million times across the globe. The DLC was first released in Japan in order to promote the newly released GLA, but it was quickly released to the rest of the world when both Mercedes and Nintendo realized how popular it was with fans.
Perhaps we’ll be seeing more car dealers willing to lend their image to cars in the karting series? Land Rovers, anyone?
