Last month, Nintendo revealed that they were partnering with McDonald’s to promote Mario Kart 8 with Happy Meal toys. Starting this weekend (and earlier in some places), you can get special Mario Kart 8 toys as part of the famous Happy Meal at McDonald’s restaurants across North America.
So far, there are 7 different toys available, each of them are figurines of popular Mario Kart 8 characters. The toys include Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Bowser, Peach, and Donkey Kong. The Happy Meal box also features a Mario Kart 8 design.
Recently, Nintendo revealed that Mario Kart 8 has sold 2 million copies on the Wii U, making it the best selling Wii U game this year. If we’re not counting in Nintendo Land, which is bundled with the Wii U, Mario Kart 8 is already likely the best selling Wii U game to date.
McDonald’s also released a new TV commercial to promote the toys, which you can check out above.
For the Wii U launch back in 2012, Nintendo partnered with McDonald’s rival Burger King to hand out free toys with their “Kid’s Meal”.
