Mario Kart 8 is the best selling Wii U game in history, and recently reached a new milestone: Nintendo reports that the game has now sold 8 million copies worldwide.
Considering that the Wii U has sold just over 13 million units, it’s an impressive feat: over half of all Wii U owners have a copy of Mario Kart 8.
And Mario Kart 8 is by far the best selling game on the Wii U. The second place, New Super Mario Bros U, has sold just over 5 million units. Third spot is another Mario game, Super Mario 3D World, which has also sold just over 5 million units to date.
