Earlier this year in October, we reported that Wii U emulator Cemu was running Mario Kart 8 at the most basic level, menu function worked and little else. Now a little over two months later, it seems as though progress has been made in actually getting the game to work on the emulator.
The system the emulator was set up on is pretty beefy, as it’s an i7-4790K with a GTX 980 inside. The game is still missing a lot of effects and won’t run very well on slower PCs, but I suppose it’s interesting to see what modders and emulator developers can do.
It’s not likely that Nintendo will let this continue to go on for long,though.
