Last week Mario Kart 8 Deluxe rose to the top of the sales charts in the UK, becoming the first Nintendo game to do so in many years. And it wasn’t a fluke, because it stayed at the top as the best selling game in the UK for a second week in a row.
And that’s despite heavy competition from newcomer Prey, which launched on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been a massive success, and some analysts think that it’s even more successful than the number suggest.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the fastest selling game in the series, selling 459,000 units on launch day in the US.
The game was well received by critics and players, however, it seems that some are seeing issues with its online multiplayer. Nintendo has yet to comment on these issues, but it’s highly likely that they are already working on an update for it.
