Square Enix announces new RPG Lost Sphear for Switch

Tokyo RPG factory, the developers of I Am Setsuna, and Square Enix are back against with another multiplatform release for the Nintendo Switch. Enter Lost Sphear.

Similar to I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear is an RPG that hearkens back to the good ole’ days where story and gameplay were king. Set for an early 2018 release, Lost Sphear follows the story of a young boy, Kanata, as he joins up with his friends to save the disappearing world around them.

Lost Sphear‘s gameplay isn’t quite turn-based, instead featuring an active-timed battle system similar to what we saw in I Am Setsuna. The combat, though, has been reworked to give players more freedom in combat scenarios, with it now possible to adjust placement mid-fight.

Lost Sphear will receive a physical release for $49.99 (same price as digital), although tit’s exclusive to Square Enix’s online store. If you pre-order the physical edition, you’ll get two music tracks from the game.
