Japanese sales: Wii U continues to hover at 6k sold

Wii U sales in Japan have been pretty lukewarm over the past few weeks, despite Kirby and the Rainbow Curse releasing on the system just last week. The title was never meant to be a system seller, which is why it’s dropped to only 12k sold this week on the charts, all the way down to 8th place. While there are several new releases in Japan this week, none of them have performed overly well, though Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker on Nintendo 3DS claims the top spot for the week.

Far Cry 4 was also released in the region, with the PlayStation 4 version claiming the second spot on the charts, with the PS3 version several places behind. As far as the Wii U goes, both Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 continue to hold a place on the charts, but neither broke 10k sold this week. All in all it’s a pretty light week in Japan and with no major titles on the way, we expect to see more of this next week.
