Japanese sales: Nintendo reclaims the top five

Wii U sales

Last week’s sales numbers for Japan are in thanks to Media Create and Nintendo has reclaimed the top five spots of the chart. Mario Kart 8 continues to hang around at number 3, selling 18k copies this week. Yoshi’s New Island only recently debuted in the country, so it maintains its second spot with 33k sold this week. Yokai Watch 2 still dominates the top of the charts with 143k sold this week, solidifying just how crazy Japan is about Level 5’s new RPG. Next week the game should break 2 million sold.

As for the rest of the chart, the original Yokai Watch is still charting, while only two of the top ten spots are claimed by Sony, one for PSV and PS3 respectively. As usual, the Nintendo 3DS continues to dominate the charts.
