Japanese sales – Wii U outsells PS3/PS4

This week in Japan sales numbers have been shaken up a little in what we assume is a preparation for Mario Kart 8, which will be released at the end of this week. Last week saw sales of the Wii U rise above both those of the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, despite no new Wii U games being released this week. Why these people didn’t just wait for the Mario Kart 8 bundle that will be available we don’t know, but it’s nice to see the uptick in sales for the Wii U regardless.

In fact, the jump in Wii U sales managed to trump everything the competition had to offer except for the PS Vita, which claimed the second spot below the Nintendo 3DS. Here’s a look at the top ten software and hardware sales for the week in Japan.
