Splatoon and Nintendo 3DS dominate Japanese sales charts this week

This week in Japan saw no new releases, but Nintendo is dominating the top of the charts with several Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games. Splatoon is hanging tight in the third spot with just over 40k sales, while Mario Kart 8 sits pretty in sixth spot with right under 10k. Yoshi’s Woolly World is the only other Wii U title to chart in Japan this week with a paltry 5.6k sales.

Nintendo 3DS titles pretty much lead the pack this week, with five out of the top ten titles sold this week belonging to the system. Hardware sales for the Wii U are up as well, most likely thanks to the continued popularity of Splatoon. Here’s a quick overview:
