Japanese sales: Nintendo claims top 5 spots this week

Nintendo is dominating the charts in Japan again, thanks to the continued sales of Splatoon and several Nintendo 3DS titles. Yokai Watch Busters and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer both chart ahead of Splatoon, which claimed fourth place this week with nearly 24k sales. Topping the charts was Super Robot Wars BX from Bandai Namco. Other Wii U games that charted this week include Mario Kart 8, Yoshi’s Woolly World, and Super Smash Bros.

On the hardware side of things, Wii U sales have cooled considerably since last week, dropping to just 11k this week. However, that’s still way above the average of 6 to 8k we saw most of last year and early this year, so it’s good to see that number up. Still, both the PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita managed to outsell the Wii U week. Here’s a look at the full chart.
