Japanese sales: Bravey Second launches in Japan, Wii U still steady

This week is a pretty big week in Japan with several new releases, including the sequel to Square Enix’s Bravely Default, Bravely Second. The game topped the charts this week in Japan with 100k sold, which is not too bad for a sequel. The PS Vita continues to do well thanks to the release of Minecraft in Japan and the PS4 has had several new releases that have sold lukewarm, but have kept the system at the top of the hardware charts over both the PS Vita and the Nintendo 3DS.

The Wii U continues to sell around 6k a week, but that will likely change next week as it will mark the first full week of availability for Xenoblade Chronicles X. That title was not available until yesterday in Japan, so sales of the console won’t reflect that bundle being on the market. In terms of Wii U games, both Mario Party 10 and Mario Kart 8 occupy the 14 and 15 spot on the charts respectively.
