Japan is experiencing Switch game shortages

Nintendo finally seems to have met the demand for Switch consoles in Japan, but they’re now facing another supply problem: there aren’t enough copies of games out there.

According to a report (Japanese), Switch owners in Japan are having a hard time finding physical copies of games, both online and at physical stores.

Amazon Japan has sold out of games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and there’s a wait period of 1-4 weeks for the games.

Even digital download codes seem to have run out online. Usually retailers are given a set amount of digital codes for games, which have to be “restocked” from the publisher like regular physical copies.

Of course, all of this can be avoided by simply getting the digital version of the game on the eShop, but some people just love physical copies.

If you couldn’t find a physical copy of a game, would you just buy the eShop version or wait? Let us know in the comments below!
