Zelda: Breath of the Wild has become the best selling Zelda game in Japan since Ocarina of Time, generally considered the best Zelda game ever (and one of the best games of all time in general).
Breath of the Wild has sold 957,752 copies to date in Japan, making it the second best selling Zelda game of all time, behind Ocarina of Time, which sold 1.2 million copies.
Worldwide, Breath of the Wild has been more popular than in Japan, who have favored Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon 2 (and Mario Odyssey) ahead of Breath of the Wild.
The game has sold over 5 million copies worldwide as of last month.
